Clothing: She almost always wears a leather cuff bracelet on her left wrist, a gold and sapphire ring on her left ring finger, a ruby-and-emerald necklace, and sometimes a gold locket on a long chain, but otherwise her outfit is HIGHLY variable. Rian has an extensive wardrobe and her style runs the gamut from tasteful to sleazy to formal. The Astral Arcana universe is one with a lot of different cultural and historical influences, so the styles of any fantasy universe, time period, or real-life Earth country would fit in fine. Much of “society” clothing, however, has a distinctly Georgian appearance (late 18th century). If you’re looking for something specific to put her in, her default outfit can be seen in the reference pictures. It’s piratey, flashy, and very pink-and-red.
Personality: Rian is an interstellar sexpot with far more whims than she has self-control. She loves to indulge herself with fine clothing and jewelry and luxurious furniture, but craves adventure and a “swashbuckling” type of life. She’s flirtatious and spontaneous, hedonistic and fun-loving to a fault. Laws, to her, are considered just one way of doing things rather than something to actually be adhered to in practice, and her reasoning for doing most things is “it seemed like a good idea at the time”; as such, she has almost no regard for consequences. Still, she does have a sense of right and wrong (albeit a skewed one), and is kind and outgoing to her crew and friends, and has a fierce dedication to the people she loves.
Personal Relationships
Significant Other: Farael Bartimaeus
Rian tarries around with a whole lot of people, but Farael is definitely her True Love. Her relationship with him is a little on the tumultuous side; whenever they met up on opposite sides of a conflict (her being a criminal, him being law enforcement), she flirted with him incessantly in kind of a "chase me" way. They fell for each other, but because of their conflicting allegiances (his to the Imperial Navy, hers to her crew) and the fact that Farael ages at an incalculably slower rate than Rian, he made what he considers one of his greatest mistakes and broke up with her. Knowing that they still had feelings for one another and propriety was what was getting in the way, she refused to take it lying down and went to truly ridiculous means to prove to him that they belonged together. It worked, in theory; they're engaged to be married, but this is likely to be a very long and argument-prone engagement.
"Professional" Rival: Pirossa
Rian and Pirossa have been on-and-off lovers, allies, rivals and enemies. At heart, neither of them is a particularly trustworthy person, so any agreements, friendships or relationships they make with one another tend to fall by the wayside. Neither one of them is going to take the other to task; it's honestly easier to have a constantly fluctuating, parameter-less relationship.
Less-than-professional Rival: Malachi Hunt
Malachi has long been a thorn in Rian's side. He made a bitter enemy of the Troll Havn's former captain, which carried on down to Rian's tenure. Rian and Malachi's relationship is in some ways similar to her rivalry with Pirossa, but much more antagonistic and hostile.
