Tribe: Silent Striders
Pack Affiliation: None; closely associated with the Nomads

Weapons: In all forms but human, he has sharp wolf teeth and claws. He carries a dagger carved from the fang of a slain fomor demon.
Other features: He has five forms in total: homid (human); glabro (near-human); crinos (wolf-human); hispo (dire wolf); and lupus (wolf). As most Silent Striders, his forms with fur are black; since he's middle-aged, his animal forms are starting to get a slight salt-and-pepper effect.

Clothing: Djehuty has a consistent "dedicated" outfit (meaning he can transform into any shape and still retain the clothing when he reverts back to human form) that he wears almost constantly: jeans, cowboy boots, a purple shirt and a black leather vest embroidered with Rider-Waite tarot cards on the back. The dagger is hidden under the vest.

Personality: For a Garou mystic who's also effectively a homeless biker, Djehuty (also called Thoth) is surprisingly well-grounded in the real world. He takes his duty to Gaia and his relationships with the spirits very seriously, but that doesn't stop him from maintaining a wide network of contacts that span many Garou tribes and that reach even outside the Garou nation. In some ways he's less traditional and more open to change than most Garou, but in others he's every bit as stubborn; one of his early challenges with Lili as her teacher was to imprint on her the seriousness of keeping Garou law in spite of her insistence that much of it was outmoded and unnecessary. The key, he believes, is to apply it with wisdom and judiciousness. Because of his moderate and thoughtful approach to life as a Garou, he has a considerable reputation among tribal elders and is respected for his counsel, and his ability to network and maintain diplomatic relationships made him instrumental in the formation of the Ahadi, the organized and united changing breeds of the African continent. However, he does have a less-than-public penchant for the unorthodox, and maintains several friendships outside the Garou world which most would consider dangerous and corrupting.

Relationships

Student: Lili Leaps-Through-Darkness
Djehuty's first encounter with Lili was when she was a very young child in the late 1980s. He and an older Strider mystic performed a kinfetch ceremony on the future Garou so that when she was on the brink of her first change, nearby members of her tribe would be on the alert. When she came of age, he approached her and she refused to have anything to do with the Garou world, but he insisted on taking responsibility for her education in the Striders' ways nonetheless. Although he found her to be an apt and insightful pupil, her love of argument and questioning tradition (often to foolish ends) was endlessly frustrating to Djehuty. When Lili could no longer maintain contact with her family for their safety, he helped her find refuge with the Nomads, even though she predictably argued the necessity of such an arrangement. In spite of their occasionally rocky teacher-student dynamic, Djehuty and Lili nevertheless have great affection for one another; he came to see her less as a student and more like a sister as she matured and came into her own, and he was a prized ally for her in her later missions against Pentex.

Animal companion: Ben
Ben, a black wolf, is Djehuty's constant companion on the road, and also his biological uncle (Ben's Garou father--Djehuty's grandfather--sired children with both humans and wolves; Ben is Djehuty's father's half-brother). The wolf is a fierce fighter and Djehuty loves him dearly as a family member, and although Ben lacks the mental complexity of a human, he's a born companion and understands the fight against the Wyrm. Djehuty has a sidecar attached to his motorcycle specifically for Ben's use.

The Nomads:
For several years prior to becoming Lili's mentor and a tribe elder, Djehuty traveled with the Nomads as a stand-in mystic, although he was never formally initiated as a pack member. At that time, Zita Thrice-Born was not yet a member of the pack, which consisted only of Ivan (sole alpha at that time), Ken, Torch, Marty and Arran. Since Silent Striders are rarely affiliated with packs, Djehuty's arrangement with the Nomads was similar to the one he set up for Lili. Even after Djehuty went his separate way, they remained friends and contacts.

Contacts: Leland and Clara Rochester
In New York City in 1986, while hunting a sept of Setite vampires, a much-younger Djehuty's life was saved by Leland Rochester and his wife Clara. Even knowing each others' true natures, both the vampire couple and the werewolf were able to forge a friendship based on trading information. Leland and Clara keep their own vast store of contacts both in and out of the vampire world that deal in the phenomena surrounding the coming apocalypse, and they become a very valuable resource for Djehuty and later for Lili, although no other Garou can be made aware that the information that's helping them has been coming from reformed vampires.
