Helimene

Helimene
Name: Helimene

Gender: Female
Species: Human
Ethnicity: Corycian
Age: 19
Occupation: Neophyte in training at the temple of Orasia, goddess of prophecy

Height: 5'4"
Build: Short; small bust, but fleshy, rounded hips and thighs. Small feet and hands; round face with small features.
Hair: Dark brown to black; wavy and usually pulled back from her face in a classical style. She usually has a loose lock or two springing into her face.
Eyes: Dark brown
Skin: Medium olive
Tattoos/Piercings: No permanent tattoos, but she often wears kohl paint and designs around her eyes, as most priests of Orasia do (see refs for ideas; the designs aren't set and she has some freedom with it). Pierced ears, but only rarely wears earrings.

Weapons: Trained by the priesthood in the use of a spear, both as a stabbing and a throwing weapon.

Clothing: At the start of the story, Helimene wears typical priestess garb. A long, flowing classical-style chiton and himation in a dark gray color give her a somber look in a city otherwise brimming with color. The himation cloak is often pulled up over her head in a hood. The style of her clothing is likely to change over the course of the story.

Personality: Cynical, sarcastic and saucy, Helimene is hardly an ideal acolyte of Orasia, the mysterious and elegant Corycian goddess of knowledge and prophecy. Although she's canny, persuasive and street-smart, her teachers at the temple see little value in those existing virtues and find her lacking in a certain... spiritual dedication. Indeed, Helimene herself finds the bustling trade city of Phorcinea far more interesting and useful to her personal education than the hallowed halls of the temple, and will volunteer eagerly for duties that take her out to the crowded streets. She takes full advantage of her garb and status as an oracular priestess to command respect while out in the city or, conversely, to elevate herself above the suspicions of certain folk who might otherwise consider someone with her talent of drawing crowds with smoke-and-mirror shows, delivering misty and far-reaching prophecies, and subsequently collecting alms to be a little eyebrow-raising...
